About the Consumer Talent Forum

The consumer talent conversation starts here.

The Consumer Talent Forum is a collaborative, invite-only community for HR, Talent and People professionals across the global FMCG and consumer product sector.

Why it exists

Nobody should work it out alone.

HR and talent professionals in consumer businesses often work in small or single-person teams. There is frequently no one internally to sense check a decision with, no easy way to know whether your approach to pay, retention or AI is ahead of the market or behind it, and little time to find out.

The Consumer Talent Forum removes that isolation. Its purpose is simple: to tackle the most pressing challenges in talent management and give members the tools, insight and connections to drive their strategies forward.

The answers are inside the Consumer Talent Forum, in sessions led by the people who did the work.

How does Danone approach pay transparency?

How does Mondelez plan its workforce?

How did Hero build AI capability across its business?

How it's run

Useful, not performative.

  1. Member-led

Every agenda comes from members through short questionnaires, so sessions stay relevant.

  2. Practitioner-led

Speakers are senior practitioners, often members, sharing real decisions and real lessons.

  3. Peer-level

Membership is curated to people professionals in consumer businesses. No suppliers, no sales pitches.

Founder and host

Chris Dickenson.

Managing Director, The Advocate Group

Chris founded the Consumer Talent Forum and hosts every session. He has more than 20 years' experience in consumer product talent.

He sees his role as a facilitator rather than someone with every answer: bringing the right people and ideas together, asking the challenging questions and making sure members leave with something practical.

Powered by The Advocate Group

Run by people who know consumer.

The forum is created and run by The Advocate Group, a specialist recruitment partner to food, drink, FMCG and consumer product businesses, from global names to challenger brands. Offices in Manchester and London, with UK and international coverage.

Advocate hosts and facilitates the forum, but CTF is not a recruitment sales platform. Its value comes from members and the conversations between them. When a wider talent view helps, Advocate can also poll its 200,000-strong LinkedIn talent network.

House rules

Three rules keep it a safe space.

The forum works because members can speak openly about things that are commercially sensitive.

  1. 1

    Members only

You must be a current HR, Talent or People professional within consumer products.

  2. 2

    No unreleased products

No discussion of unreleased products or launches.

  3. 3

    No confidential data

No sharing of personal employee data, and no non-public information about products or people.

Clear about what it is not.

  • A recruitment network
  • A sales event
  • A public networking group
  • A conference
  • A training provider
  • A discount club

It is a peer community built around honest conversation and practical value. See what membership includes.
