Draft for review

This page is a draft. Before launch, the items below need confirming and the page needs a legal review. Anything in square brackets is a placeholder.

  • ICO data protection registration number for Advocate Associate Consultants Limited
  • Whether Circle and Stripe details below match how membership sign-up and payment will work
  • How long applications and enquiries are kept (24 months suggested)
  • The analytics tool, if one is switched on, and its cookies

Who we are

The Consumer Talent Forum (CTF) and this website, consumertalentforum.co.uk, are run by Advocate Associate Consultants Limited, trading as The Advocate Group (company number 07911648, registered office The Plaza, 100 Old Hall Street, Liverpool, L3 9QJ). We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this website.

Questions about this policy or your information: enquiries@consumertalentforum.co.uk. Data protection registration: [TBC: ICO registration number].

What we collect

When you apply to join or ask for a call, the form collects your first and last name, work email, phone number (optional), job title, company, how many people would join, what you would like from us, and your confirmation that you work in HR, Talent or People at a consumer products business.

With each form, the site also records the page you sent it from, the first page you visited during that visit, the site that referred you and any campaign tags in the link you followed (for example utm_source). This tells us which of our campaigns and pages are working.

We do not store your IP address. The server uses it briefly, in memory, to limit how many forms one connection can send, which stops spam.

Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as the pages requested and the time) to keep the site running and secure.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the providers that run the website and the forum for us:

  • Railway, which hosts this website and stores form submissions on servers in the EU (the Netherlands).
  • Resend, which delivers the email notification of your application to our team, from its Ireland (EU) region.
  • Barracuda, which screens incoming email for spam and viruses before it reaches our inbox.
  • Microsoft 365, where our team receives and answers email.
  • Circle (circle.so), which hosts the private member community. If you join, we use your name, work email, job title and company to invite you.
  • Stripe, which takes membership card payments if you join [TBC: confirm when payments go live]. We never see or store full card details.

Some of these providers are based in, or use servers in, the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by the UK's adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement, as the provider's terms set out [TBC: confirm for each provider].

How long we keep it

Applications and enquiries are kept for [TBC: 24 months] after our last contact with you, then deleted. If you become a member, we keep the information needed to run your membership while it lasts and for as long afterwards as the law requires for accounting.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, ask us to restrict it, or ask for it to be transferred. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email enquiries@consumertalentforum.co.uk and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Cookies

This site uses a small number of essential cookies and browser storage items, and analytics only if you allow them. The cookie policy lists each one.
